Tree Removal

Tree removal may be required for many reasons, especially when a tree has become a hazard to people or property.

The following are examples:

  • Decayed trunks or root rot
  • Storm damaged trees
  • Dead, dying, or diseased trees
  • Trees with cracks or splits in trunks or crotches
  • Trees outgrowing a safe area

Kelly Tree Service does not remove trees that are in good health, are structurally sound or are growing in a good area. Many municipalities require permits before removal of trees. It is the homeowner's responsibility to acquire the permits prior to removal.

Pruning or Trimming

Properly maintained trees add great value to your property which increases every year. Pruning or Trimming can improve your trees in many ways.

These include:

  • Elevating lower limbs
  • Thinning for light and wind filtration
  • Eliminating weight at end of limbs to prevent splitting or limb failure
  • Thinning for visibility
  • Shaping of ornamental trees, shrubs and hedges
  • Cabling and bracing

Stump Removal

Tree stumps can be left in the ground or ground out to allow you to plant the area with something else, for example grass or another tree. Our machine allows the wood to be ground within the stump to a depth of 12 inches. Individual roots are not removed and can be left to decay in the soil. As we cannot climb steep hills with the stump grinder, approach to your stump must be fairly level and any gates to the backyard must be about 36 inches to provide access. Unless you request otherwise, mulch is raked back into a pile over the stump area. The chips make excellent mulch and can be spread over the roots of trees, shrubs or plants.
